Alok Mehta wins 2 Gold Medals
9/3/11: Alok Wins 35 + Men's and 35+ Mixed Doubles. Alok battled it out in the singles against Ken Cheshire again this time even a closer battle, but Alok pulled it out in at the End. Alok/Tina have won 2 years in a row the 35+ Mixed doubles title. Way to Go Alok!.

won the next 2 games 11-3, 11-3. After the first cycle of round robin Alok is
Leading the group.

India Wins 3 Gold's at World Senior Doubles
World Senior Doubles Win 3 gold's - Team India (Raaj Mohan/Diane Aragon-Iafornaro) Win 30+ Mixed and 30/35+ Combined title and (Raaj Mohan/ Tim Baghurst) Win Mens 30+ Titile.
Team India at the US Open
The US Open is the biggest event in racquetball with 765 players, 24 courts and 5 days to battle. It is a single elimination tournment where players from all ages and countries meet up. More than 2000 matches were played over the week.
Two members of team India (Srikaran and Raaj) headed to the US open. Raaj got Silver in the Mens 25+ A division. In the doubles event Team India knocked off the Number 1 seed, but fell short to Team Guatemala 15-14 15-14. Srikaran tied for 3rd in the men’s 25+B division . Raaj lost to Missael Leija from Mexico who went on to win the A divison. Also Harish Chopra from New Delhi had a great run in his divisions.

Alok Mehta takes Gold..
Sept 4th, Albuquerque, NM: Team Alok Metha/Tina Hagen in the 35+ Mixed Doubles event took Gold. They finished on top of their pool undefeated.
During the single elimination tournament, During the single elimination tournament, Alok lost his singles match against Jeff Basket in tie breaker after getting injured in the second game.

Sept 3rd , Albuquerque ,NM: At the end of day 4 Men’s round robin round, Alok Mehta stands tall by winning all his matches. This brilliant performance means that he will be
Seeded No 1 for the knock out bracket which starts Saturday, September 4, 2010.
Alok, who hails from Illinois, is competing in the Men’s 35-40+, which is the toughest bracket in the championships. This division has 12 participants, divided into 2 pools and Alok is the
top finisher from his pool in priliminary round robin stage. The other top in his pool are Chris Pacheco (USA) in 2nd and Oscar Gonzales (MEX) in 3rd. In the opposite pool, Victor Lopez (MEX) stands 1st and the fight for 2nd and 3rd is currently on. The tournament is still wide open as the players enter a gruesome one day knock off round. This round is after 4 days of pool play to determine the seeding.
Alok is partnering with Tina Hagen in the 35+ Mixed Doubles event and is continuing his amazing form and the team is currently leading the bracket by winning all of their 6 games. As the tournament enters the final phase, Alok has his eyes set on two Gold medals in both his divisions.
Racquetball India will have the cameras on Alok and other matches tomorrow.

World Cup Summary:
Indian men won Gold in the Team Competetion in mens White Division and took Silver in doubles(Raaj Mohan & Srikaran Kandadai) in the Individiual Event in the White Division. Raaj Mohan lost in the Quarter Finals in Men’s red division and Sathwik Rai lost in the quarters of Men’s White Division in the individual competetion. The team and individual Standings will not be out till later.

The World Championships, a biennial event, is an extremely prestigious event on the international Racquetball calendar. This year the event is expected to attract the top players from around the world, with around 40 countries likely to participate.
Thirty-two year old Sathwik Rai, a former junior Indian national level swimmer, will captain the team at the all-important Championships. The other two members are Srikaran Kandadai and Raaj Mohan. All three playing members currently reside in the US and have a range of accolades in the sport to their individual credit, despite being full-time working professionals...
2010 IRF World Championships granted to Korea
The International Racquetball Federation (IRF) awarded the 2010 World Championships to Korea.
Seven new glassbackwall portable courts will be build, along with the existing 4-glasswall portable court. Those 8 portable courts will be used for development of racquetball in Asia and worldwide after the Worlds.......
